Get Lit Beacon is a literary salon founded by writer and teacher Julie Chibbaro, who often heard about other writers in town, but never got to meet them. Get Lit Beacon is a way to invite writers out into the community where they can be seen and heard.
The salon is a casual gathering where published and aspiring adult writers of any genre can hang out, have a drink and share their work. Usually, one or two professional writers are invited to join us and discuss their work.
Get Lit Beacon meets on the 2nd Sunday of each month (mostly) at Oak Vino Wine bar at 389 Main Street in Beacon. You can find out more on our Facebook Page. There’s a sign up sheet at the door if you want to read aloud. There’s a 5 minute limit (2-3 double spaced pages).
We practice positive listening, and support each other in this difficult endeavor (writing is HARD! We all need some love!) And speaking of love, donations to GLB are always welcome to keep our community running strong!
